Having vanished amidst accusations of murder and the abdication of a precious future, Henri Fabergé has been hiding out on the coast of the North Sea. No longer aristocrat, not quite vagrant, near oblivion, he is whisked into the fold of an isolated community hell-bent on creating the utopian ideal ... on the tiny island of Heligoland.
